As my graduate presentation, I was able to present the graduate research project that I have been a part of this term and will continue throughout the year.
The project is developing affordable, panelized housing utilizing Mass Plywood Panels (MPP) sourced from Freres Lumber in Oregon. The goal of this project is to construct a prototype and a small ‘village’ of these units that take advantage of new upzoning within a suburb of Portland Oregon. Working with local development partners, and leaning on the expertise on both fabrications and costing of mass timber structures, the intent is to make these units within ten percent cost of traditional stick-frame housing units.

The units are two-story, two-bedroom, two-bathroom units that can be single one-offs or arranged as row houses.
